Résumé

Mogato will discuss the spread of fake news in the Philippines and how this undermines the news media’s role.  He addresses the question: “In a time when human rights and other fundamental freedoms in the Philippines are under the spotlight, what should journalists do to respond to the threats of fake news and the lack of accountability by purveyors of false information?”
